Bratislava’s transport infrastructure is set for major improvement, which is good news for property investors…
The Transport Ministry, railway company ZSR, and the City of Bratislava signed a memorandum on a common procedure in the construction of railway infrastructure in Bratislava. Its goal is to build railway tracks that will connect Bratislava with the TEN-T17 transportation network (connecting Paris and Vienna) and a track for Bratislava’s main transport system, creating tram lines from Petrzalka to Safarikovo Square in the Old Town.
The project also includes connecting Bratislava airport with the railway network and electrification of the railway track between Devinska Nova Ves and Austrian Marchegg.
Dopravoprojekt will prepare documentation for the project. The tracks should be completed in 2015. The construction expenditures are estimated at Sk 18.5bn, where 80% of the money should come from EU funds and the rest from the state budget.
