According to latest estimates by Eurostat, Slovakia is to achieve the second highest ranking in standard-of-living among the Visegrad 4 countries, moving ahead of Hungary in terms of GDP per capita.

Slovakia has exhibited an outstanding GDP growth in recent years, which is becoming tangible. A strong and stable economy means more local spending power, a healthy engine for the construction industry. The construction boom is only in its infancy in Slovakia.

A new central parity rate has been set for Slovak crown, namely 35.4424 to the euro. Analysts say the final conversion rate will most probably be between 30-33 SKK and the Slovak crown will strengthen further even more with the introduction of the euro in 2009.
